Silverarm RPG Newsletter #4: The Shrike Launches!
The Shrike Kickstarter, The Shrike and Vaults of Vaarn Interview with Leo Hunt, Tide World of Mani PDF Released,
Howdy,
Welcome back to issue 4 of the Silverarm RPG Newsletter.
Short but oh so sweet this time. This month I’ve got these update goodies for ya:
The Shrike Launches!
Sweet Interview with Leo Hunt about The Shrike and Vaults of Vaarn
Tide World of Mani is Out on PDF
Shrike Kickstarter Launches Now!
Follow the Kickstarter Here! I’m real excited to be able to get this out into the world, Leo and I have been working on putting this together for a couple years and I think the results will be well worth it at your table. The scale and theme of this huge dark fantasy sandbox is different from anything else Silverarm has put out before and think this pointcrawl. The module’s scary, adventurous, sometimes sad, and a little beautiful at times and a unique perspective on an abandoned hellscape that only would have come from Leo Hunt’s specific lenses.
If you want to find out more I’d definitely recommend checking out the Kickstarter page but there’s also a great interview from Dieku Games with Leo that just came out where he talks about the details behind The Shrike. I know it’s inside baseball but I always dig seeing how other people’s creative processes work and what inspires them. Leo also discusses Vaults of Vaarn and how he got into RPG’s super recently. Garry Snow is also an interviewer I enjoy in that sweet spot between too short to go in-depth and endless tangential ramble that can be hard for interesting interviews to nail for me.
Tide World of Mani Out on PDF!
Head on over to DriveThruRPG at the link here, and take a gander at the complete PDF for Tide World of Mani, I’ve got a big chunk of it for preview if you’re on the fence. Seeing it all laid out and edited really makes me dig the book a lot more than when it was a Google Doc manuscript I was banging my head against for way too long. I’m proud of the final product and think it fits in well to the vein of it’s spiritual successor to Desert Moon of Karth while also doing it’s own revolution more single city based sandbox thing.
The physical Tide World of Mani books are working their way through the printers and shortly on their way to getting shipped and I can’t wait to get those out to people and hold my own copy. Like many people I spend way too much of my day staring at a computer screen and typing and when something I make exists off the glow of the screen, it’s very affirming- though the PDF can be easier for at quick at the table reference and online games.
No blog posts this time, been juggling a lot of plates with this project and wrapping up Mani. I’ve got like 7 in drafts that are half finished skeletons of cool ideas I need to type up and turn into proper blog posts soon.
See ya again soon,
Joel
